The cheapest violin strings are the E strings. Even expensive sets can have cheap E strings, such as the Evah Pirazzi set that is often sold with a plain steel E string. As far as whole sets are concerned, one of the most affordable, nice sounding violin strings is the Animato Maestro Set. It is similar to the ‘weich’ Dominant strings but significantly cheaper.
